Colette is a Special Counsel in the commercial litigation team.
A commercial litigation lawyer of over 15 years experience, Colette has worked on numerous high profile and large-scale disputes and trials in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal of Western Australia and the Federal Court of Australia.
Colette specialises in the management, preparation and conduct of large disputes. She has the experience and expertise to manage matters which involve lengthy interlocutory arguments, large volumes of documentary material, multiple witnesses and complex legal issues.
The focus of Colette’s work is on contractual disputes, principally involving mining and infrastructure assets, trade practices and consumer law and corporations law. Her clients include statutory authorities, multi-national corporations, ASX listed companies and high-net worth individuals.
Colette has considerable trial and appellate court experience. For example, in December 2014, she had the primary conduct of a trial in the Federal Court of Australia in a claim regarding the payment of demurrage and port services charges the outcome of which potentially had national and international ramifications. In February 2015, she had the primary conduct of a trial conducted in the Supreme Court of Western Australia on behalf of a mining company involving the breach of a partnership agreement.
